1789 Capital invests an additional $300 million in Polymarket

The investment fund 1789 Capital, in which Donald Trump Jr. is involved as a partner, is expanding its position in prediction platform Polymarket by approximately $300 million. Intercontinental Exchange remains largest shareholder

Despite the expansion by 1789 Capital, Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) remains the largest investor in Polymarket. In July, ICE announced it held a stake of $1.6 billion, representing approximately 22% of outstanding shares.

Polymarket is one of the best-known prediction markets in the world, where users can bet on the outcome of political, economic and other events. The platform attracted a great deal of attention during the 2024 US presidential elections due to the large trading volumes surrounding the result.
