Altcoin market at critical support level: recovery or further decline?
The total market capitalisation of altcoins is at a support level that, according to analyst @eliz883, is decisive for the direction of the market. The next three to five days are crucial: if this level holds, a bottom may have been set. If not, a broad correction of 20 to 30% threatens.
In brief:
- The altcoin market is hitting an important support level and is attempting to recover.
- If this level holds over the coming days, a significant bottom may have formed.
- Losing this level increases the likelihood of a broad correction of 20 to 30% in the market.
Critical support level reached
The chart shows that the total altcoin market capitalisation, labelled OTHERS on TradingView, is trading at around $161 billion. That is precisely the zone the analyst identifies as a critical support level. The price fell from a peak of around $242 billion and is now seeking support in this area.
The chart shows two scenarios. A recovery towards the resistance zone of around $190 to $197 billion is the positive case, while a downward breakout could send the market towards the $127 to $133 billion zone. That difference represents a potential downward move of 20 to 30% for many altcoins.
Coming sessions decisive
According to the analyst, a firm response from buyers is now needed to confirm the support area. The market must hold this zone over the next three to five trading days. Only then is there sufficient evidence that the decline has come to an end.
If the market fails to do so and the price breaks through the support level, the chance of a broad sell-off increases considerably. Such a scenario would mean that a large part of the altcoin market loses tens of percent in value once again. The coming trading days will therefore quickly provide clarity on which path the market is taking.
