American Bitcoin Reaches More Than 8,000 Bitcoin in Reserve
American Bitcoin, the Bitcoin accumulation platform backed by the Trump family and established in partnership with Hut 8, reports a new milestone: its total Bitcoin reserve now exceeds 8,000 BTC. The company thereby climbs to 16th place on the global ranking of the largest public companies holding Bitcoin on their balance sheets.
Bitcoin is available at OKX and Bybit.
500 Bitcoin Added Since Last Week
In the most recent update, American Bitcoin added 500 BTC to its reserve, bringing total holdings to exactly 8,000 Bitcoin. That is a significant step for the company, which trades on the Nasdaq under the ticker symbol ABTC. According to the update of 6 July 2026, the Bitcoin reserve has more than tripled since the Nasdaq listing on 3 September 2025.
The so-called Satoshis per Share (SPS), a metric indicating how much Bitcoin is held per outstanding share, has also risen roughly threefold compared to the debut. Currently, that metric stands at over 733 satoshis per share. The Bitcoin price currently stands at $63.742, an increase of 1.6% over the past 24 hours.
Reverse Stock Split to Maintain Nasdaq Listing
Despite the growing Bitcoin reserve, there is also less positive news. The ABTC stock has lost more than 60% of its value this year. Last week, the company announced a so-called 1-for-15 reverse stock split. That measure is necessary to maintain the Nasdaq listing. Due to the split, the number of outstanding shares drops from approximately 1.09 billion to roughly 73 million.
American Bitcoin states that its mission remains unchanged: to accumulate as much Bitcoin as possible for shareholders. The company thus fits into a broader trend of public companies using Bitcoin as a reserve asset, similar to the strategy of companies such as Strategy. Whether the stock’s price performance improves in the coming period largely depends on the direction taken by the Bitcoin price in the coming weeks.
