Bitcoin Bull Score jumps from 30 to 80 in one week
CryptoQuant’s Bitcoin Bull Score has risen from 30 to 80 in one week, the highest level since October 2025. Eight of the ten indicators are now in the green. The price has risen 24% since 17 August to $80.000, but has since pulled back slightly to $79K. CryptoQuant sees signs of a new bull market, but also points to overheating risks in the short term.
Bitcoin is available at Bitvavo and OKX.
In short:
- The Bitcoin Bull Score rose from 30 to 80 in seven days, the strongest signal in nearly a year.
- Spot and futures demand are growing simultaneously for the first time since October 2025.
- Confirmation of the bull market still requires a closing price above the 365-day average of approximately $83.000.
Bull Score at highest point in nearly a year
CryptoQuant states that Bitcoin is entering a new bull market based on the rise in the Bull Score. With eight of the ten indicators in bullish territory, this is the strongest reading since 6 October 2025.
The visible spot market demand is currently growing at its fastest monthly pace since late December 2024. Remarkably, spot and futures demand are now increasing simultaneously for the first time since early October 2025, which CryptoQuant sees as a sign that the market is entering the early phase of a new upward cycle.
However, a definitive confirmation requires a closing price above the 365-day moving average of approximately $83.000. Bitcoin is currently trading at $79K, which means that threshold has not yet been reached.
Overheating and short-term selling pressure
Despite the positive picture, CryptoQuant warns of signs of overheating. Traders’ unrealised profit margin rose to 20.5%, the highest level since June 2025.
In addition, whales took a record $614 million in profit on 20 August. Rising inflows of Bitcoin, Ethereum and XRP to exchanges may point to increased selling pressure in the short term, according to CryptoQuant.
Whether the market can break through the resistance around $83.000 will determine whether the new bull market actually continues. As long as the price remains below that level, uncertainty persists.
