Michaël van de Poppe warns against thinking about markets in absolute terms. According to him, that is a recipe for disaster. Yet the analyst sees enough reasons to be cautiously optimistic about Bitcoin and altcoins, despite the markets being in a downtrend since October last year.

Bitcoin is available at OKX and Bybit.

Altcoins Break Out of Their Downtrend Channel

According to Van de Poppe, several altcoins are breaking out of their one-year downtrend. This is an important signal that the market is about to turn. Such a breakout can mark the beginning of a new phase in which investors start accumulating again.

The analyst emphasises that you do not need to wait for the exact bottom to enter. Instead, it is about understanding how capital flows work. By scaling in and scaling out gradually, you can better respond to market movements without worrying about the absolute low or high.

Bullish Divergences Point to a Turning Point

Another important signal comes from strong bullish divergences that indicate a reversal is on the way. These technical patterns suggest that the downward move is flattening and that a recovery is in sight.

At the moment, Bitcoin is at $64.500 with a gain of 0.5% over the past 24 hours. If the bullish signals take hold, according to Van de Poppe there is no need to fear the scenario in which Bitcoin drops to $40.000. This would mean that you should already start accumulating now, before a potential rally unfolds.
