Bitcoin ETF Flows Finally Turn Positive After 10 Days of Outflows
After a streak of ten consecutive days of outflows, the US Bitcoin ETFs are finally showing positive inflow figures again. On 2 July, a total of $223.5 million flowed in, marking a clear reversal after weeks of sustained outflows. Bitcoin itself is meanwhile holding steady around $62.500, a rise of 1.3% in the past 24 hours.
Bitcoin is available at OKX and Bybit.
End of a long outflow streak
Throughout almost the entire month of June, funds consistently flowed out of the Bitcoin ETFs. In total, it amounts to around $4.5 billion in outflows over that period, with outliers such as 25 June with nearly $692 million negative and 26 June with $444.5 million. The largest outlier came from BlackRock’s IBIT on 25 June, which lost $265.7 million that day.
On 2 July, the tide turns. Fidelity’s FBTC attracted $166 million that day, while ARK Invest’s ARKB accounted for $91.8 million in inflows. Analyst @DaanCrypto states that this is not the biggest inflow day ever, but that the end of the negative streak does indeed mean something.
Price stability as a positive signal
What stands out about the past few weeks is that the Bitcoin price has managed to hold around $60.000 despite all the outflows. According to analysts, this points to significant demand from other corners of the market that absorbs the selling pressure. If the price now rises further, that is all the more significant: it indicates that there has been strong absorption at the bottom.
The total inflow figures across all Bitcoin ETFs now show a cumulative inflow of over $51 billion, with BlackRock’s IBIT having received by far the most inflow ever at $59.9 billion. Grayscale’s older GBTC fund, on the other hand, stands at a total loss of $27.2 billion. Earlier, the Bitcoin ETF lost $295 million in a single day, which illustrates well the magnitude of the recent outflow period.
Whether this reversal marks the beginning of a new inflow trend will become clear in the coming days. Investors are watching closely to see if the market can maintain its momentum now that the negative streak is officially over.
