Bitcoin ETF outflow rises to $527 million in eighth consecutive week
Spot Bitcoin ETFs are experiencing net outflows for the eighth consecutive week. In the week from 29 June to 2 July, a total of $527 million flowed out of these funds, while the Bitcoin price fluctuates around $63.000. The total net assets of all spot Bitcoin ETFs currently stand at $74.37 billion.
Bitcoin is available at OKX and Bybit.
Eight weeks of outflows for Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs
The persistent outflow from spot Bitcoin ETFs has now become a stubborn pattern. For eight weeks, investors have been leaving these funds on a net basis, pointing to caution in the market despite a stable price. The loss of $527 million in one week is a heavy blow on top of the outflows already suffered earlier.
Ethereum ETFs are also not escaping the fate of Bitcoin. The spot Ethereum funds recorded a net outflow of $13.67 million in the same week, also for the eighth consecutive week. This dual pattern suggests that institutional investors are currently broadly distancing themselves from the largest crypto markets.
SOL, XRP and HYPE ETFs attract money instead
While Bitcoin and Ethereum are facing outflows, the alternative ETF products show a different picture. Spot Solana ETFs attracted $5.75 million in net inflows, and XRP ETFs did even better with $17.19 million in inflows. Hyperliquid ETFs added another $4.32 million to that.
This contrast is striking. While the big names are suffering from outflows, investors seem to show interest in smaller and newer ETF products. Whether this is a structural shift or merely temporary speculative behaviour is difficult to say at this moment. The coming weeks will show whether the outflow streak for Bitcoin and Ethereum continues or finally comes to an end.
