Bitcoin is available at Bitvavo and OKX.
In brief:
- Bitcoin ETFs record $159 million in inflows on 17 September, carried entirely by BlackRock’s IBIT.
- Ethereum ETFs show outflows for the third consecutive day, this time $39.2 million.
- Total assets in spot Bitcoin ETFs stand at $96.25 billion, while Bitcoin trades around $77.489.
IBIT the only one with inflows on 17 September
According to data from SoSoValue and a report by Wu Blockchain, total net inflows into spot Bitcoin ETFs on 17 September amount to $159 million. BlackRock’s IBIT is the only provider attracting money. All other funds report no inflows or remain neutral.
The total assets held in spot Bitcoin ETFs stand at $96.25 billion. Bitcoin itself trades around $77.489, a rise of 1.3% over the past 24 hours. The price is therefore recovering somewhat after the heavy outflow of $520 million on 16 September, when both Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs saw money leave.
Ethereum ETFs remain under pressure
The Ethereum ETFs are still struggling with sustained outflows. On 17 September $39.2 million leaves the segment, putting the negative streak at three consecutive days. That is a striking contrast with the inflows on the Bitcoin side.
The continued pressure on Ethereum ETFs follows a period in which Bitcoin ETFs also saw $450 million flow out on 15 September. The recent data shows that investors are becoming more selective about which segment of the crypto market they commit capital to, with BlackRock’s IBIT as the clear exception that continues to benefit from sustained demand.
