The Bitcoin price is currently around $62.700, a decline of 2.5% over the past 24 hours. After a brief breakout above the local range, Bitcoin fails to hold higher levels, and the price falls back to a familiar support area. Analysts describe this as choppy, sideways price action typical of the summer period.

Bitcoin is available at OKX and Bybit.

Failed breakout above the local range

The 4-hour chart shows that Bitcoin fails to break above the range high of $64.661. After a brief spike towards $65.500, the price quickly falls back. The exponential moving average on the 4-hour chart plays a crucial role: the blue 200 EMA holds as support for a while, but the price then meets resistance at the range high and starts its decline.

At the moment, Bitcoin is at the level of the purple 200-day moving average, around $62.777. That level is the next serious support zone. The range low, visible on the chart around $61.269, forms the next critical level if this support also gives way.

Typical summer price action with no clear direction

Analyst DaanCrypto describes the current market conditions as uninspiring. According to him, periods of a few days up and down alternate, without a real breakout in either direction. This makes active trading difficult and unattractive for traders who rely on clear trends.

This situation is consistent with what was seen earlier when Bitcoin was at a tipping point with large amounts of BTC hovering just above or below the break-even price. As long as there is no new impetus from the macroeconomic side or from the crypto market itself, the sideways range between $61.270 and $64.660 seems to remain the playing field for now.
