BitMine bezit 4,9% van alle Ethereum en stapt op $15,7 miljard
BitMine Immersion Technologies is the world’s largest Ethereum treasury and is expanding its position further. The listed company (NYSE: BMNR) now holds 5,929,198 ETH, accounting for 4.9% of the total Ethereum supply of 122 million tokens. At a price of $2.495 per ETH, this represents approximately $14.79 billion. Including cash, marketable securities and other investments, total assets amount to $15.7 billion.
Ethereum is available at OKX and Bybit.
In brief:
- BitMine holds 5.93 million ETH worth approximately $14.79 billion, nearly 5% of the total supply.
- Of that ETH, 85% is staked, with an expected annual staking yield of $330 million.
- BMNR shares have risen 99% this quarter, ranking fourth in the Russell 1000.
Weekly purchases since June 2025
According to BitMine’s press release, the company has bought ETH every week since the start of its treasury strategy on 30 June 2025. Last week, a further 28,086 ETH were added. In addition to Ethereum, the company also holds 211 Bitcoin and approximately $593 million in cash and marketable securities.
Chairman Tom Lee states that Ethereum is the best-performing macro asset in the third quarter of 2026, outpacing the S&P 500 by 5,430 basis points. He sees this as a signal for fund managers benchmarked to the Russell 1000 to review their exposure to crypto.
BitMine was added to the Russell 1000 Large Cap Index on 26 June 2026. The stock has posted a 99% gain this quarter, the fourth-best performance within that index. Crypto stocks are the largest contributor to the Russell 1000 this quarter and represent four of the 21 best-performing stocks.
Staking generates $330 million per year
Of the 5.93 million ETH, BitMine has now staked 5,067,309 tokens, roughly 85% of the total position. This represents a value of $12.6 billion. The expected annual staking yield currently amounts to $330 million, based on a seven-day return of 2.61%. With full utilisation of its own MAVAN staking platform, that projection rises to $386 million per year.
MAVAN, which stands for Made in America Validator Network, is the institutional staking platform BitMine launched earlier in 2026. The platform is now also available to external institutional investors, custodians and other parties within the Ethereum ecosystem.
In addition to its Ethereum position, BitMine holds a $180 million stake in Beast Industries and $91 million in Eightco Holdings (NASDAQ: ORBS), one of the few publicly listed companies worldwide that offer investors indirect exposure to OpenAI. Capital markets adviser Tom DeMark expects Ethereum to make a sharp upward move in the coming weeks, partly because the downward pressure in August did not materialise and, in his view, the upward trend is thus continuing.
BitMine is backed by a group of institutional investors, including Cathie Wood’s ARK Investment, Founders Fund, Pantera, Kraken, DCG and Galaxy Digital. The aim remains to eventually own 5% of all outstanding Ethereum. According to the company itself, it is now 97% of the way towards that goal.
