The Bitcoin price is currently moving around $64K and showing little exciting movement. Analyst Michaël van de Poppe, known as @CryptoMichNL, expects the quarter to remain dull for now as long as a key resistance zone is not broken.

Bitcoin is available at OKX and Bybit.

Dip below $61.000 could still come

Van de Poppe states that the price behaviour at this moment is remarkably uninspiring. According to the analyst, a sweep of liquidity below $61.000 is not an unlikely scenario before Bitcoin makes a serious attempt towards higher levels.

On the chart, it can be seen that Bitcoin is trying to stabilise around $62.000 after the sharp decline in June. The price is in a recovery move on the lower timeframe, but Van de Poppe indicates that this level must first be firmly retaken before a real bottom can be spoken of. Earlier, we saw that Bitcoin holders of 6 to 12 months are sending coins to exchanges, which can add extra selling pressure.

Resistance at $67.000 to $68.000 is crucial

The zone between $67.000 and $68.000 is, according to Van de Poppe, the key for the rest of the summer. As long as the Bitcoin price fails to break through that resistance, the market remains stuck in a pattern that offers little prospect for major price increases. Summer 2026 thus looks fairly flat.

This aligns with a broader sentiment that the market has been stuck in a range for some time. For instance, the Bitcoin price has been ping-ponging between $65.000 and $66.000, and there appears to be no clear catalyst yet to push the price out of this range. When that breakout does come, the returns for the season will largely be determined in the period afterwards.
