Coinbase books $1.2 billion revenue in Q2 but suffers loss of $359 million
Coinbase closed the second quarter of 2026 with total revenue of $1.22 billion. That is 19% less than a year earlier and 14% lower than the previous quarter. At the same time, the company sees its market share in crypto trading rise to a record, while its prediction markets division grows strongly.

Revenue falls, market share rises
Coinbase’s transaction revenue falls 21% to $599 million. Total crypto spot volume on the platform shrinks 24% to $146.4 billion. Yet Coinbase manages to increase its share of total crypto trading: from 9.1% to a record 10.3%. This indicates that other exchanges are falling back even harder in relative terms. For instance, research by Binance reports that the crypto market contracted broadly in the first half of 2026.
Subscription and services revenue falls 5% to $555 million, accounting for 48% of net revenue. Revenue outside Bitcoin spot trading represents as much as 88% of the total. The net loss stands at $359
