Coinbase removes six trading pairs on 6 August 2026
Coinbase is removing six non-dollar trading pairs on 6 August 2026. The exchange is taking this step to improve overall market health and concentrate liquidity. Users will still be able to trade the affected coins through the dollar order books afterwards.
In brief:
- Coinbase is discontinuing six non-dollar trading pairs on 6 August 2026.
- The pairs concerned are LSETH-ETH, MINA-EUR, GRT-GBP, MASK-GBP, CHZ-USDT and CRO-USDT.
- Several of these pairs are already in the so-called limit-only mode.
Which pairs are being removed?
Coinbase Markets has announced that the trading pairs LSETH-ETH, MINA-EUR, GRT-GBP, MASK-GBP, CHZ-USDT and CRO-USDT will no longer be available as of 6 August. The exchange regularly monitors market conditions and has concluded that removing these six pairs contributes to a healthier market structure.
Notably, a large proportion of the affected pairs had already been placed in limit-only mode. This means users have not been able to place market orders on those pairs for some time, which points to a gradual phase-out. Coinbase was previously in the news for moving institutional clients to Deribit.
What does this mean for users?
Those trading via Coinbase Advanced Trade in eligible regions will still be able to buy and sell the coins in question after 6 August, but only through the dollar order books. The non-dollar pairs, such as the euro and pound sterling variants, will therefore no longer be available.
The measure affects, among others, traders dealing in Mina (MINA) in euros, The Graph (GRT) and Mask Network (MASK) in British pounds, and Chiliz (CHZ) and Cronos (CRO) linked to USDT. Ethereum currently stands at $1.892,02, up 1.1% over the past 24 hours. The Coinbase Bitcoin premium index was also recently a topic of discussion.
