Coinbase Ventures meest actieve crypto investeerder in H1 2026
Coinbase Ventures was by far the most active investor in the crypto market in the first half of 2026. With 30 deals, the company left the competition far behind. This is according to figures from CryptoRank, published on 11 July 2026.
Animoca Brands and a16z crypto trail behind
In second place is Animoca Brands with 19 investment deals in H1 2026. Third place goes to a16z crypto, which participated in 18 deals over the same period. Tether rounds out the top four with 15 deals. The stablecoin issuer is thus showing it wants to remain actively involved in the broader development of the crypto sector.
The gap between Coinbase Ventures and the rest of the field is remarkably wide. With 30 deals, the company clearly stands out compared with Animoca Brands, which finishes second with nearly half as many transactions.
Castrum Capital, Becker Ventures and Galaxy each on 10 deals
Further down the ranking, Castrum Capital, Becker Ventures and Galaxy each recorded 10 deals in the first half of 2026. Those are respectable numbers, but the contrast with the leaders remains large. The figures show that a handful of major players dominate the investor landscape in the crypto sector.
The data comes from CryptoRank via its funding analytics page and provides a clear picture of which parties are deploying capital most actively in the growing crypto market. Whether this pace will be maintained in the second half of 2026 remains to be seen. What is clear, however, is that Coinbase Ventures is currently setting the tone in terms of the number of investment transactions.
