The bankrupt crypto company FTX has announced another major payout. On 31 July 2026, the fifth round of creditor payments will begin, distributing approximately $900 million in total. This was reported by PR Newswire.

Who receives the payout?

The payout is aimed at holders of approved claims in both the Convenience Class and the Non Convenience Class. These are the two categories of creditors included in FTX’s reorganisation plan. Only creditors who have completed the required preparatory steps before the record date of 16 June 2026 are eligible for this round.

In addition to regular creditors, certain preferred equity holders will also receive a second payment on the same day. This makes 31 July a significant milestone in the winding-up process of the former crypto company.

How and when will creditors receive their money?

FTX expects that eligible creditors will receive their payments within one to three business days after 31 July via their chosen distribution provider. The exact timing therefore depends on the processing by the relevant service provider.

The fifth payout is a further step in the lengthy recovery process that followed FTX’s spectacular collapse in November 2022. Since then, the company has been working through a reorganisation plan to repay billions of dollars to defrauded customers and creditors worldwide.
