GoMining successfully mines Bitcoin block with Stratum V2
GoMining is presenting to the world for the first time how Stratum V2 works in practice. The company mined a Bitcoin block together with DMND mining pool, in which the miner itself determines the block template and prioritises which transactions are included. This is a significant step forward for decentralisation in the Bitcoin network.
Bitcoin is available at OKX and Bybit.
What is Stratum V2?
Until now, Bitcoin mining worked in such a way that large mining pools held the power. They determined which transactions go into a block and in what order. Stratum V2 changes this completely. With the Job Declaration function, individual miners can now decide for themselves what their blocks look like.
GoMining shows that this is not just theory. The company demonstrated that miners can prioritise GoBTC Pay transactions and thus gain full control over block construction. This gives miners much more say than before.
Why is this important for Bitcoin?
The Bitcoin community has been talking about decentralisation of mining pools for years. Many miners felt forced to go to large pools because they had more certainty of income there. Stratum V2 solves a large part of this problem.
By giving miners more control, GoMining breaks the power of large pools. This makes the Bitcoin network more robust and distributed. Miners can now decide for themselves what they put in their blocks, without being dependent on pool decisions.
GoMining’s initiative shows that Stratum V2 adoption is progressing rapidly. More miners are expected to adopt this protocol as it proves its reliability. This contributes to a healthier and more decentralised Bitcoin ecosystem.
