The Hyperliquid price is under significant pressure. A wallet that is believed to be linked to investment firm Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) is selling a large amount of HYPE tokens, causing the price to drop nearly 10% in 24 hours. The price currently stands at around $60.66, a decline of 7.9% over the past day.

Hyperliquid is available at OKX and Bybit.

Wallet sells millions in HYPE tokens

According to data from HyperInsight, the suspected a16z wallet is selling 105,400 HYPE at an average of $61.49 per token, amounting to a total of approximately $6.48 million. This makes it one of the larger sell transactions hitting the market on this day.

In addition to the direct sale, another 190,000 HYPE are being moved via so-called aggregation routes linked to exchanges, including Bybit. Whether these tokens are ultimately fully sold remains unclear at this point. The wallet moves a total of 315,000 HYPE over the course of the day and now still holds approximately 45,100 HYPE on HyperEVM.

Price sinks to 24-hour low

The selling pressure from this wallet has clearly left its mark on the HYPE price. The token hit a 24-hour low of $58.79 and is trading around $58.99 at the time of writing, representing a loss of 9.72% in one day. Earlier in the day, the price was still at a daily high of $66.75.

The large volume of tokens hitting the market in a short period is putting heavy pressure on the price. Whether this involves profit-taking or a strategic repositioning by the a16z-linked wallet is not known. Investors are closely monitoring the situation, given the size of the wallet and the potential impact on market sentiment surrounding Hyperliquid.
