Kalshi sets weekly record with $5.1 billion in World Cup bets
Prediction market platform Kalshi makes an impression with a record-breaking first week during the FIFA World Cup. Trading volume reaches $5.1 billion in just seven days, while the platform also introduces its own AI agent to test contracts and support market resolutions.
Record volume thanks to the World Cup
Interest in World Cup-related bets gives Kalshi a significant boost. According to Bloomberg, the platform registered a weekly record of $5.1 billion in trading volume during the opening week of the tournament. That is a remarkable milestone for a platform that was barely getting off the ground at the start of 2024.
The growth over the past months has been spectacular. In May, Kalshi’s notional trading volume reached nearly $18 billion, another all-time high. The accompanying chart from Bloomberg and Dune Analytics shows how volumes surged steeply from late 2025, from less than $2 billion per week to over $5 billion in June 2026.
AI agent Harrison helps test markets
Alongside the record figures, Bloomberg reveals that Kalshi is internally working on an AI agent named Harrison. This system is built on Anthropic’s Claude model and has a specific task: stress-testing contracts, identifying potential loopholes, and supporting market resolutions.
With Harrison, Kalshi is trying to increase the reliability of its prediction markets. By automatically detecting weak points in contracts, the platform aims to prevent users from exploiting unclear wording or other backdoors. It is a sign that major players in the prediction market sector are increasingly turning to AI to strengthen their infrastructure.
