Michaël van de Poppe: Ethereum is in an accumulation phase
Analyst Michaël van de Poppe expects Ethereum to break upwards soon from what he describes as an accumulation zone. According to his analysis, the ETH/BTC price is at a support level where supply and demand are in balance. Ethereum is currently trading at $2.460, up 2.6% over the past 24 hours.
In brief:
- Van de Poppe sees Ethereum in an accumulation phase and expects an upward breakout
- The ETH/BTC chart shows a support zone around 0.03020 to 0.03048
- The analyst also expects regulation for digital assets to be coming, possibly via a different route than the Clarity Act
ETH/BTC finds support at key zone
The attached chart shows the ETH/BTC ratio over a longer period. After a downward trend in 2025 and early 2026, the price appears to stabilise around August in a support zone between 0.03020 and 0.03048 BTC.
Van de Poppe indicates that he expects an upward movement from this level in the coming period. Whether and when that breakout actually occurs is of course uncertain.
Regulation for digital assets expected
In addition to the technical analysis, Van de Poppe also comments on regulation. According to him, it is only a matter of time before legislation for digital assets arrives. He does not rule out that this will happen via a different route than the US Clarity Act, but considers it almost certain that legislation and regulation are coming.
At the time of writing, Ethereum stands at $2.460, up 2.6% compared with 24 hours earlier.
