Morpho Recovers After AWS CloudFront Outage
The DeFi protocol Morpho has been hit by a partial outage in its frontend and API, caused by a failure at AWS CloudFront. Services have now been fully restored and are functioning normally again, although performance may still be slightly affected.
Outage due to AWS CloudFront failure
Julien, lead engineer at Morpho, reports that app.morpho.org and api.morpho.org were partially unreachable about three hours ago due to a possible outage at AWS CloudFront. The team is immediately looking for a temporary solution to restore traffic as quickly as possible.
Morpho is not the only one affected by the outage. YEET co-founder Mando has announced that his project’s website has also gone offline due to the same AWS CloudFront failure. He explicitly states that the incident has no effect on user assets or funds. The team is actively working on a solution and expects services to resume shortly.
All services now restored
Shortly after the outage was reported, Julien indicated that all Morpho services are running stably again. Both the app and the API are operational once more, although he warns that performance may still be somewhat affected.
The outage only concerns the technical infrastructure of the frontend and API and has no impact on user funds or the functioning of the underlying protocol. Morpho runs on the blockchain and the smart contracts remain active during the outage.
