Quantum Solutions sells 1,000 Ethereum for AI data centres
Quantum Solutions, the Japanese company with the largest Ethereum reserves in Japan, is once again selling a significant amount of ETH. Subsidiary GPT Pals Studio Limited is selling 1,000 Ethereum for approximately $1.9 million, with the aim of financing AI data centre operations.
Ethereum is available at OKX and Bybit.
In brief:
- GPT Pals Studio Limited sells 1,000 ETH for approximately $1.9 million on 30 July 2026.
- Total Ethereum sold thus stands at 1,904 ETH, while reserves have fallen by about 29% from their peak.
- Quantum Solutions increases the maximum sales limit from 1,875 ETH to 4,375 ETH to cover future financing needs.
Second sale in a short period
It is not the first time Quantum Solutions has sold ETH. On 16 June, GPT Pals Studio already sold 904 ETH, after which the remaining sales capacity under the old policy fell to 971 ETH. The current sale of 1,000 ETH exceeds that limit, which is why the company first raised the sales limit via a board resolution of 30 July 2026.
After both transactions combined, total sales amount to 1,904 ETH. The group’s current Ethereum reserves stand at 4,764.80 ETH, a decline of approximately 29% compared to the highest level. The Ethereum price currently stands at $1.900, an increase of 1.1% over the past 24 hours.
Maximum sales limit raised significantly
Quantum Solutions is adjusting its sales policy by raising the upper limit for ETH sales from 1,875 ETH to 4,375 ETH. This means the company may still sell a maximum of 2,471 ETH extra, which amounts to approximately 52% of the current total reserves.
According to the company, this additional capacity is intended to flexibly respond to the financing needs surrounding the so-called AIDC project, an AI Infrastructure Data Centre. The proceeds will go towards GPU equipment, data centre usage agreements and the further setup of the AI data centre platform. The company also expects to record a book loss of approximately 17 million Japanese yen on this sale in the second quarter of the fiscal year ending February 2027.
