The trading volume of real-world assets on decentralised perpetual exchanges is surging. In June 2026, the monthly volume reached a new record of $110 billion, a 28.2% increase from May. Compared to January, when the volume stood at $23.1 billion, that is nearly a fivefold increase in six months.

Public equities dominate the RWA volume

The largest category within the RWA trading volume is public equities, or listed shares. In June, this category represented $43.2 billion in trading volume, leaving the other categories far behind.

In second place are equity indices with $26.7 billion, followed by precious metals with $21 billion. Oil rounds out the list with $15.5 billion in volume in June. The chart from CryptoRank shows that each category is growing month after month, with public equities and equity indices showing the strongest increase.

RWA perps as the fastest-growing DeFi segment

The figures follow a clear upward trajectory. From $23.1 billion in January, the total volume grows to $36.2 billion in February, $62.7 billion in March, $65.2 billion in April and $85.8 billion in May, eventually reaching $110 billion in June.

According to CryptoRank, RWA perpetuals are developing into one of the fastest-growing segments within DeFi. The growing interest in trading traditional assets via decentralised protocols appears to be becoming a structural trend, with the market setting new records every month.
