Seven major token unlocks in September 2026

In September 2026, seven major token unlocks are scheduled. Plasma (XPL) has the largest unlock: $150.61 million worth of tokens will become available, equivalent to 63.2% of the project’s total market capitalisation. XPL dominates the month with historic first unlock

On 25 September, 1.75 billion XPL tokens will be released. That is 17.6% of the total supply, valued at $150.61 million based on the current market capitalisation of $238.32 million. According to CryptoRank, this is the first unlock of allocations for the team and investors, immediately after the so-called cliff period, the minimum waiting time before tokens are released.

An unlock of 63.2% of the market capitalisation is exceptionally large. When a significant portion of the circulating supply is suddenly released, it can put pressure on the price, especially if early investors or team members decide to sell. Whether that will also be the case for XPL remains to be seen from how the XPL price develops in the coming weeks.

Other major unlocks spread across the month

On 9 September, it is ADI Chain’s (ADI) turn. Then 6.99 million tokens will be released, worth $49.01 million, representing 7.18% of the market capitalisation. On 2 September, Bitway (BTW) follows with an unlock of 101.62 million tokens worth $41.32 million, accounting for 3.75% of the market capitalisation of $1.10 billion.

Pump.fun (PUMP) has a release of 6.87 billion tokens planned for 14 September, worth $29.79 million. That is 1.73% of the market capitalisation of $1.71 billion. On 20 September, LayerZero (ZRO) will see 25.71 million tokens released for $26.93 million, making up 7.28% of the market capitalisation.

On 8 September, Stable (STABLE) will release 888.80 million tokens worth $24.45 million, accounting for 4.94% of the market capitalisation of $495.30 million. Finally, HumanityProtocol (H) follows on 25 September with an unlock of 269.73 million tokens worth $19.67 million, equivalent to 13.5% of the market capitalisation of $146.15 million.
