Solana price attempts breakout against Bitcoin
The Solana price is showing an interesting movement relative to Bitcoin. On the daily chart of the SOL/BTC trading pair, Solana has been consolidating within a descending wedge for some time and is now attempting to break out above it. Whether this attempt succeeds will determine the next major move for the coin.
Solana is available at OKX and Bybit.
Descending wedge as a technical pattern
The analyst team DaanCrypto shares a chart that clearly shows the descending wedge Solana has formed relative to Bitcoin. This pattern, also known as a falling wedge, is characterised by two descending trendlines moving towards each other. Technically, such a pattern is considered a potentially bullish signal, as the price has less and less room before a breakout occurs.
At the time of the analysis, the SOL/BTC pair is trading at around 0.0011138 BTC. The chart runs from early 2026 to mid-June and shows how the price has already recovered significantly after a low in early June. However, Solana is now encountering resistance at the top of the wedge, making the coming days a critical period for the price.
What a breakout could mean for the Solana ecosystem
A successful break above resistance could generate further upward momentum for Solana. This could also have a positive effect on coins within the Solana ecosystem, as a strengthening Solana price typically draws additional attention to the associated projects and tokens.
For now, there is no confirmed breakout yet. The resistance is holding, and investors would be wise to keep a close eye on this level. By comparison, the Bitcoin price is currently at $65.800. a decline of 1.2% over the past 24 hours. Earlier, it was suggested by the CEO of Coinbase that Bitcoin may have formed a bottom around $60.000. which provides some support for the broader market sentiment.
