Large gap to the rest of the Nasdaq-100
According to data from History of Market, Strategy heads the monthly performance list of all 101 Nasdaq-100 companies. The index includes technology companies such as Nvidia, Apple and Microsoft, but also newer names such as Arm Holdings and CrowdStrike.
The difference with the rest of the list is remarkably large. The average decline of 3.3% makes the gain of almost 48% for Strategy all the more striking. Meta and AMD follow in the ranking, but with a considerably smaller gain.
Strategy bets on Bitcoin as core strategy
Strategy is known for its aggressive Bitcoin buying strategy. The company, led by Michael Saylor, has built up a substantial Bitcoin position in recent years by issuing shares and convertible bonds. The share price therefore moves strongly in line with the Bitcoin price.
The strong monthly performance coincides with a period of recovery on the crypto markets. Investors seeking exposure to Bitcoin through the stock market see Strategy as a direct way to participate in it. That makes the share sensitive to both strong gains and sharp declines.
