Strategy sells $263.5 million in shares but does not buy Bitcoin
Strategy sold over 2.73 million MSTR shares in the week of July 13 to July 19 through its at-the-market offering programme, generating net proceeds of $263.5 million. Notably, the company did not purchase any Bitcoin during the same period. Its total holdings therefore remain unchanged at 843,775 BTC.
Bitcoin is available at OKX and Bybit.
No new Bitcoin purchases this week
Strategy has now kept its total Bitcoin position unchanged for the second consecutive week. The 843,775 BTC were acquired for a total of $63.69 billion, representing an average purchase price of $75.476 per BTC. That is well above the current Bitcoin price of $65K, meaning the company is currently sitting on a paper loss on its overall position.
Yet Strategy does not seem to be in a hurry to buy more. Instead, it focused this week on raising capital through share sales. The company’s dollar reserve has consequently grown to $3,225 billion, an increase from the previous reporting period.
Large capital capacity available for future steps
According to the official Form 8-K, Strategy still has significant room for further share issuance. For ordinary MSTR shares, $23,526 billion in capacity remains. Earlier, on March 23, 2026, the company already announced a new offering programme of $21 billion for MSTR shares, the so-called MSTR Increase. That programme will only start once the existing capacity is nearly exhausted.
In addition to ordinary shares, various preferred share classes are also on the balance sheet. For example, $17,510 billion is still available for STRC shares (Variable Rate Series A Perpetual Stretch Preferred Stock) and $4,014 billion for STRD shares. No transactions were executed in any of the preferred share classes this week. Strategy continues its strategy of raising capital through multiple instruments while leaving its existing Bitcoin position untouched for now.
