Strategy sold nearly 4.82 million of its own shares for a net amount of $466.7 million, but did not buy any Bitcoin in the same period. This is according to an SEC filing on 13 July. The company’s Bitcoin holdings thus remain unchanged, while its cash position grows.

Bitcoin is available at OKX and Bybit.

Share Sale Without Bitcoin Purchase

Between 6 and 12 July, Strategy sold a total of 4,818,781 MSTR shares (Class A Common Stock) through its at-the-market offering programme. The net proceeds amount to $466.7 million. Notably, the company did not buy any Bitcoin during this period, something that Strategy normally does regularly.

The other shares in the ATM programme, including the STRF, STRC, STRK and STRD preferred stocks, were not sold at all during this period. However, the overview shows substantial available amounts for future issuance: there is still $17.5 billion ready for the STRC line and over $23.7 billion for ordinary MSTR shares.

Bitcoin Holdings Unchanged, Cash Reserve Rises

The total Bitcoin position of Strategy remains at 843,775 BTC. With the current Bitcoin price of around $62.328, that represents an enormous value, although the price is down 2.5% today. Earlier, analysts saw a buying opportunity in MSTR, despite the criticism that Michael Saylor’s company regularly receives.

The USD reserve of Strategy does rise: the company now has $3.0 billion in liquid assets. This suggests that the proceeds from the share sale are being kept as a buffer for now and not going directly into Bitcoin. Whether Strategy will soon make another purchase is not yet known. The full SEC document can be consulted via the official 8-K filing.
