Tesla did not sell any Bitcoin. The Q2 2026 earnings report shows that Elon Musk’s company still holds 11,509 BTC. That position is currently worth around $755 million, but also represents an unrealised loss of $112 million.

Bitcoin is available at OKX and Bybit.

Tesla reports digital assets on balance sheet

On Tesla’s official balance sheet, digital assets stood at $674 million as of 30 June 2026. That is a decline from the $786 million the company reported at the end of March 2026. This difference reflects Bitcoin’s price movement in the second quarter, as the number of coins did not change.

However, the impairment on the balance sheet value does not mean that Tesla is actually incurring a loss. As long as the company does not sell the coins, it remains an unrealised loss. Tesla is thus consciously maintaining the position, indicating that the company’s long-term confidence in Bitcoin remains unchanged.

Bitcoin price under pressure in Q2

The Bitcoin price currently stands at $65.902 and shows a slight decline of 0.6% over the past 24 hours. In the second quarter of 2026, Bitcoin had a volatile performance, which has direct consequences for companies that hold large amounts of crypto on their balance sheets.

Tesla is one of the few large publicly listed companies that has maintained a significant Bitcoin position for years. Despite the pressure on the price and the associated accounting loss, the company has once again chosen to keep its entire stack of coins. This makes Tesla’s strategy regarding digital assets remarkably consistent.
