Trump earns at least $1.4 billion from crypto in 2025

Donald Trump will earn at least $1.4 billion from crypto in 2025, according to his latest annual financial disclosure. That makes crypto by far his largest source of income, once again raising questions about conflicts of interest.

Hundreds of millions from token sales and royalties

According to the disclosure, as reported by Bloomberg, the income comes from several crypto-related sources. World Liberty Financial, the DeFi project linked to the Trump family, raises over $588 million through token sales. In addition, CIC Digital LLC brings in approximately $636 million, mainly through royalty agreements for so-called Celebration Coins.

On top of that, Trump receives nearly $197 million in income from the sale of a stake in Stablecoin Holdco. This brings the total crypto-related income to at least $1.4 billion, although the actual amount could be higher since the disclosure lists minimum values.

Conflict of interest back in the spotlight

The disclosure has sparked renewed criticism of Trump’s position as president. He does not sell or manage his crypto interests through a so-called blind trust, which is customary for US presidents to avoid the appearance of a conflict of interest. Trump simply maintains his positions in World Liberty Financial and other crypto projects while simultaneously, as president, making policy that directly affects the crypto sector.

Critics argue that this arrangement is problematic, especially now that crypto is increasingly becoming a political issue in Washington. The scale of the income makes clear that Trump personally has a large financial stake in a crypto-friendly policy, while as president he helps determine the regulation of digital assets. Whether concrete steps will be taken to address the situation remains unclear for now.
