Upexi adds 2 million Solana to Russell Microcap Index
Upexi, the Nasdaq-listed company that focuses on Solana as a digital treasury, is being added to the Russell Microcap Index. The inclusion takes effect on Monday 29 June 2026 and is part of the annual reconstitution of the Russell US Indexes. The company expects this step to increase visibility among institutional investors and index funds.
Solana is available at OKX and Bybit.
Second largest Solana treasury in the world
Upexi (NASDAQ: UPXI) is currently the second largest corporate holder of Solana in the world, with over 2 million SOL in its possession. The company is headquartered in Tampa, Florida, and combines its digital asset strategy with a portfolio of consumer brands. The inclusion in the Russell Microcap Index will officially take effect at the opening of the US stock markets on 29 June, after the new index composition is finalised on Friday 26 June after the close of trading.
Upexi reports in an official press release: the inclusion increases accessibility for investors who want to invest in the company through index funds. This is a relevant step for a company that has built its strategy entirely around Solana.
Solana treasury stocks under pressure
The announcement comes at a time when shares of companies with a Solana treasury strategy are struggling. For instance, Solmate, backed by ARK Invest, has fallen more than 90% from the price at which capital was raised. The broader pressure on this segment of the market makes Upexi’s position all the more striking, given that the company has managed to secure a place in a leading index despite that environment.
The Solana price stands at $73.13 at the time of writing, an increase of 11.2% in the past 24 hours. Whether the inclusion of Upexi in the Russell Microcap Index provides an additional boost to sentiment around Solana-related stocks remains to be seen. However, the expectation is that the increased institutional attention will have a positive effect on the company’s visibility over time.
