VerifiedX has launched a $15 million funding round, with investment bank Cantor Fitzgerald as a partner. The project says it has already secured institutional capital, but provides no details on the amount raised so far or which investors are involved.

In short:

  • VerifiedX is working on infrastructure to make Bitcoin usable as financial capital
  • The money will go towards custody integrations and exchange listings, among other things
  • The platform supports payments, DeFi and AI agents via vBTC

Institutional Bitcoin infrastructure in development

The financial operating system for Bitcoin focuses on creating programmable financial capital. The platform revolves around vBTC, a verified representation of Bitcoin in which each vBTC is fully backed by one Bitcoin in ownership.

The goal of the funding round is threefold: the money supports the distribution of institutional Bitcoin, integrations with custody services, and listings on centralised exchanges. VerifiedX also wants to expand its custody integration with BitGo.

vBTC as a bridge to financial markets

The core idea behind VerifiedX is that Bitcoin holders can participate in financial markets via vBTC without giving up ownership of their Bitcoin. Instead, the Bitcoin remains in self-custody, while vBTC can be used for payments, lending services and other financial applications.

The platform works with security firms such as Halborn and applies institutional standards for control and compliance. VerifiedX’s native token is VFX, which is also listed on exchanges. Bitcoin Magazine reports.
