XRP whale inflow on Binance at lowest level since 2021
The inflow of XRP from whales on Binance has fallen to its lowest level since 2021. According to data from CryptoQuant, the three-month average inflow currently stands at $61 million, while in January 2025 it was still $456 million. The decline is notable because XRP is simultaneously struggling to hold the $1 price level.
In brief:
- The XRP whale inflow on Binance is at its lowest point since 2021, at $61 million based on a three-month average.
- Compared with January 2025, inflows have become six to eight times lower.
- The net flow remains positive for now at around $18.8 million, meaning inflows are still greater than outflows.
Inflow plummets, but net flow remains positive
The inflow of large XRP holders on Binance has declined sharply. After standing at $355 million in October 2024 and reaching $456 million in January 2025, the three-month average has now fallen to $61 million. That is six to eight times less than earlier this year.
Yet not everything is negative. Analyst Darkfost points out that the net flow is still positive, at around $18.8 million. This means that on balance more XRP is still flowing into Binance than leaving it, although that margin is shrinking.
Selling pressure eases, but demand has not yet picked up
The analyst places the development in a broader market context. According to him, the pattern of declining inflows and volumes is visible across the entire crypto market. He describes this as a sign of “selling exhaustion”: selling pressure is easing, but demand has not yet picked up to fill that gap.
A similar development was previously visible in Bitcoin, where whales actually deposited a record amount of Bitcoin on Binance. With XRP, the movement is the opposite: the major players are sending less XRP to the platform.
Darkfost concludes that while the declining whale inflow is a positive signal for XRP, it is still too early to expect the price to reach new highs. XRP is trading at around $1.00 at the time of writing, down 0.2% in the past 24 hours.
