ZachXBT ignored for months after $275K scam recovery

Blockchain researcher ZachXBT says he has been ignored for weeks by someone for whom he recovered $275.000 that had been stolen by Indian telephone scammers. This is the third time this year that he has missed out on a reward after helping victims. Since June 2026, the total amount he has missed out on has risen to around $100.000, which has significantly undermined his motivation to help strangers.

Four weeks of silence after successful recovery

ZachXBT succeeded in recovering $275.000 that had been stolen by scammers operating by telephone from India. Afterwards, he was to receive a percentage of the recovered amount as compensation for his work. That payment never materialised.

According to ZachXBT, the person in question is active on X, but has not responded to his messages for four weeks. The attached screenshots show how the communication has dragged on for months: questions from ZachXBT remain unanswered or are dismissed with vague promises that a plan will be presented soon.

Third time this year a reward has failed to materialise

This is not the first time ZachXBT has been treated in this way. Since June 2026, there have already been three cases in which promised rewards were never paid out. In total, this concerns around $100.000 that he has missed out on after helping victims.

ZachXBT says this has seriously affected his motivation. He announces that from now on he will no longer answer messages from people he does not know, and will only respond to requests that come through trusted contacts. Although he indicates that the three cases have affected his motivation, this is his own statement.
