What is Shiba Inu?

Shiba Inu is one of the largest memecoins, launched in August 2020 by a pseudonymous founder known as Ryoshi. Branded the “Dogecoin killer,” it runs on Ethereum and started with a vast supply of one quadrillion tokens, half of which were famously sent to Ethereum’s Vitalik Buterin. He later burned a large portion and donated the rest, an episode that gave the project huge early publicity.
