The US spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded a net outflow of $95.30 million on 9 July. The spot Ethereum ETFs also turned red, with $52.08 million leaving, bringing an end to a streak of five consecutive days of net inflow. The Bitcoin price is trading at $64K at the time of writing, up 2.6% in the past 24 hours.

Bitcoin is available at OKX and Bybit.

Outflow follows recent positive period

Yesterday’s outflow stands in contrast to the multiple days of positive ETF flows seen earlier this week. The total net assets in the spot Bitcoin ETFs currently amount to $76.51 billion, according to data from SoSoValue.

Earlier this week, on 8 July, the Bitcoin ETFs already saw an outflow of $84.86 million. The two consecutive outflow days point to waning short-term buying sentiment among institutional investors, although the total asset size of the funds remains substantial.

Ethereum ETF streak broken

For the Ethereum ETFs, the outflow of $52.08 million is particularly striking. The funds had been in positive territory over the past five trading days, indicating growing institutional interest in Ethereum as an investment category. That streak has now been broken.

The Ethereum price has been facing headwinds for some time. Earlier this week, the price remained stuck below the $1.800 resistance level, complicating the recovery. Whether yesterday’s outflow is a temporary correction or the start of a longer negative trend remains to be seen. Investors and analysts will be closely monitoring ETF flows in the coming days.
