After three consecutive weeks of inflows, Bitcoin spot ETFs reversed course in the week of 27 to 31 July, with a net outflow of $61.53 million. Meanwhile, Ethereum ETFs showed a positive picture, recording net inflows for four consecutive weeks.

Bitcoin is available at Bitvavo and OKX.

In brief:

  • Bitcoin spot ETFs recorded $61.53 million in net outflows, ending a three-week positive streak.
  • Ethereum spot ETFs extended their inflow streak to four consecutive weeks with $27.42 million.
  • XRP and Solana ETFs showed small positive figures, while HYPE ETFs posted outflows.

Positive streak for Bitcoin ETFs comes to an end

The week of 27 to 31 July turned out clearly differently for Bitcoin spot ETFs than the weeks before. After three weeks of net inflows, the flows have now swung the other way: investors withdrew a net $61.53 million from these funds. The total asset base of all Bitcoin spot ETFs currently stands at $76.29 billion, while Bitcoin itself trades around $62K, down 1.3% over the past 24 hours.

The outflow fits within a broader context of caution in the cryptocurrency market in August, a month that historically has not been the strongest for Bitcoin. Analysts anticipate that the price could fall further to between $54.000 and $57.000.

Ethereum and XRP continue to attract inflows

In contrast to the outflows at Bitcoin ETFs, Ethereum presented a strikingly different picture. The Ethereum spot ETFs booked $27.42 million in net inflows, extending their positive streak to four weeks. This is notable, especially now that Ethereum recently broke its downtrend against Bitcoin, although the follow-up scenario remains uncertain.

XRP and Solana spot ETFs also recorded positive flows over the same period. XRP attracted $14.86 million in inflows, while Solana ETFs received $2.82 million. HYPE, the token of the Hyperliquid network, posted an outflow of $14.75 million. The various altcoin ETFs thus paint a mixed picture, with XRP clearly holding the greatest appeal for ETF investors this week.
