Coinbase Launches Champions Cup in India with Prize Pool of 3.3 Crore Rupees
Coinbase is taking a different approach and is now targeting Indian traders with a large-scale trading competition. The Champions Cup Trading Competition has officially started and runs from 8 to 29 July 2026. The prize pool is 3.3 crore rupees, approximately $390.000. The event is exclusively accessible to users in India.
Three leaderboards for different types of traders
The competition features three separate leaderboards, giving both large and small traders a chance to win a prize. The first leaderboard is based on total trading volume, the second on the highest absolute profit and loss (P&L), and the third on the highest percentage P&L return. This way, you do not necessarily have to be the biggest player to compete for the prizes.
Coinbase states that rewards are distributed based on how participants perform across these three categories. This gives every trader, regardless of portfolio size, a fair chance to win. More details on the exact terms and prize model can be found on the official Coinbase competition page.
Coinbase is betting on the Indian market
With this competition, Coinbase shows that it takes the Indian market seriously. India is considered one of the fastest-growing crypto markets in the world, with millions of active traders. By organising a local competition with a prize pool in rupees, the company is directly targeting that local audience.
It is not the first time Coinbase has attracted attention with its approach to specific markets. We previously wrote about the Coinbase Bitcoin Premium Index, which also provides insight into how the platform relates to the broader crypto market. The Champions Cup is now a direct attempt to get more users active on the platform, specifically in India.
