Hyperliquid open interest rises to $11 billion in 2026
Hyperliquid achieves an impressive milestone: total open interest on the platform reaches approximately $11.07 billion on 13 July 2026, the highest level this year. The figure then edges back slightly to around $10.88 billion. Meanwhile, the Hyperliquid price shows a decline of 4.4% and HYPE stands at $64.00.
Hyperliquid is available at OKX and Bybit.
HIP-3 markets set new record
A notable element of this growth is the contribution from the so-called HIP-3 markets. These markets together represent open interest of around $3.69 billion, a record for this segment. Within HIP-3, the RWA open interest in particular stands out, reaching a new all-time high.
RWA stands for Real World Assets: tokenised versions of traditional financial products such as bonds and real estate. The growing interest in this segment shows that Hyperliquid is not only popular among speculative traders, but is also increasingly attracting attention in the realm of regulated, real-world based assets. This is a development that the broader crypto market has been watching for some time, especially as other platforms also see their futures volumes grow, such as Binance recently reported reaching a futures volume of $16 trillion.
Open interest climbs steadily back to the top
According to data from DeFiLlama, the chart of Hyperliquid’s open interest tells a story of its own. At the start of 2025, open interest fluctuates around $3 billion, before shooting up in the summer of 2025 to peaks above $15 billion. After a sharp decline in autumn 2025, the figure has since been climbing steadily towards the current level of more than $10 billion.
That recovery move is remarkable: while large parts of the crypto market are still searching for direction, Hyperliquid continues to attract more trading volume and open positions.
