Ondo price rises 18% after tokenization launch with DTCC and SBI
The Ondo price makes a striking jump of approximately 18% following two major announcements: the launch of tokenised equity representations via DTCC and a partnership with Japan’s SBI Group for tokenised shares. What makes this case special is that the rally does not stop at the announcement. On-chain data shows that network activity simply continues to grow.
Ondo is available at OKX and Bybit.
Price climbs from $0.31 to $0.37 in three days
Between 14 and 16 July, the Ondo price rose from about $0.31 to around $0.37. This move of roughly 18% coincides with the announcement of DTCC-backed tokenised equity representations and the collaboration with SBI Group, a major Japanese financial institution betting on tokenised shares.
Normally, such a price spike evaporates within 24 hours if there is no fundamental follow-up. With Ondo, that is clearly not the case. Market data from Santiment shows that the number of new addresses on the network rises for three consecutive days: from 367 on 14 July to 562 on 15 July and finally 754 on 16 July. That is the strongest three-day momentum since June and roughly double the pace at the beginning of July.
On-chain activity reaches July high
The number of daily active addresses also grows at the same pace. On 14 July, the network counted 1,410 active addresses, on 15 July there were 1,971, and on 16 July the number peaked at 2,589. That is the busiest period on the network since 30 June.
Santiment draws an interesting comparison with Chainlink, another big name in the tokenisation sector. With Chainlink, the price does rise on similar news moments, but on-chain activity remains flat. With Ondo, new wallets and user activity simply continue to grow, three days after the initial launch. In the crypto market, that pattern is considered a stronger indicator than a price spike alone. The launch was the news; the on-chain growth is the signal.
