SpaceX holds $1.3 billion in Bitcoin and is 8th largest corporate holder
SpaceX, Elon Musk’s space exploration company, has risen to eighth place in the global ranking of the largest corporate Bitcoin holders. The company holds no less than $1.3 billion in Bitcoin on its balance sheet, a notable sum as more large companies opt for Bitcoin as part of their financial strategy.
Bitcoin is available at OKX and Bybit.
Corporations stack Bitcoin without waiting
Recent data shows that about 25% of the world’s largest companies are now actively buying Bitcoin. SpaceX is therefore no longer an exception, but rather part of a growing trend in which major players take the cryptocurrency seriously as a reserve asset. While small investors still wonder whether it is too late to get in, corporations are already acting in full force.
SpaceX’s strategy aligns with what well-known names such as MicroStrategy and Tesla previously demonstrated: holding Bitcoin as a long-term reserve on the corporate balance sheet. With $1.3 billion in Bitcoin, SpaceX now ranks among the largest institutional holders worldwide, further amplifying the weight of this position. Bloomberg previously wrote about the SpaceX pre-IPO allocation and the anticipated stock market listing surrounding this news.
Institutional interest grows steadily
SpaceX’s move fits a broader trend in the market. Institutional interest in Bitcoin is also increasing via other channels: Bitcoin ETFs attract tens of millions of dollars, while analysts such as Standard Chartered suggest that the crypto winter could be over with a price target towards $100.000, Metaplanet is also expanding its Bitcoin strategy further.
Meanwhile, the question of whether it is too late for retail investors is becoming increasingly irrelevant, as company after company expands its Bitcoin position. SpaceX thus proves that the adoption of Bitcoin as a corporate reserve is no temporary hype, but a strategy that is being embraced ever more broadly at the top of the global business world.
