Outflows from US Bitcoin spot ETFs reach a new low. The 30-day moving average of net ETF flows stands at -2,450 BTC per day, the lowest level ever measured since the launch of these products. That is according to analyst CryptoVizArt, based on data from Glassnode. The Bitcoin price is currently at $61K, a drop of 1.9% in the last 24 hours.

Bitcoin is available at OKX and Bybit.

Record outflow points to structural shift

What makes this signal so striking is not the outflow on a single day, but the fact that the average over a full month is now in record-negative territory. Earlier this year, the Bitcoin ETFs already broke a record with thirteen consecutive days of outflow, but the current situation goes further than that. According to CryptoVizArt, it is no longer a short-term reaction to market conditions.

The analyst states that a monthly average at this level indicates a structural shift in how institutional parties position themselves relative to Bitcoin. It is not a temporary selling wave, but a pattern that points to a fundamental change in the attitude of large investors.

Institutional demand creates headwind for Bitcoin

The 30-day SMA, a widely used metric to filter out short-term noise and reveal the underlying trend, shows that selling pressure from the institutional side persists. As long as this trend does not reverse, the institutional demand side acts as a brake on price recovery rather than a supportive factor.

That large players are cautious is also visible elsewhere. For example, large Bitcoin holders are currently depositing twice as much BTC on Binance during the current June dip, which also indicates selling pressure. The question now is when the 30-day average of ETF flows will reach a bottom and the trend will reverse, because only then can institutional demand again make a positive contribution to the Bitcoin price.
