In short:
- Spot Bitcoin ETFs attracted $307 million on 21 August, the fifth consecutive day of net inflows.
- Spot Ethereum ETFs recorded $185 million in inflows on the same day, also for the fifth day in a row.
- Total assets in spot Bitcoin ETFs currently stand at $96 billion.
Bitcoin ETFs see five days of sustained inflows
According to data from SoSoValue, new capital is flowing into US spot Bitcoin ETFs on a daily basis. The streak of five consecutive positive days follows a period of mixed inflows and outflows earlier this month. On 20 August, Bitcoin ETFs attracted another $606 million, making the current day somewhat quieter, although the trend remains intact.
Total assets in spot Bitcoin ETFs have now reached $96 billion. The Bitcoin price is trading around $77.000, and analysts at CoinShares expect Bitcoin to remain below $80.000 until the Fed provides more clarity on the interest rate path.
Ethereum ETFs follow the same pattern
Notably, spot Ethereum ETFs show exactly the same streak. There too, it has been five consecutive days of inflows, with $185 million in inflows on 21 August. The Ethereum price rose earlier this week to $2.400 after breaking out of a compression pattern.
The simultaneous inflow streak in both Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs points to broader buying appetite among institutional investors. Whether the streak continues will depend in part on Bitcoin’s price movement in the coming days, with the $80.000 level serving as an important psychological threshold.
