David Hoffman, co-founder of Bankless, takes a striking step by divesting his entire Ethereum position. After the sale, the crypto investor allocates approximately 50% of the freed-up capital directly to various altcoins, while systematically deploying the remaining half into another digital asset.

Ethereum is available at Bitvavo and Bybit.

Hoffman diversifies into NEAR, ZEC and HYPE

The first half of the capital goes into a mix of promising tokens. Hoffman decides to invest in VVV, NEAR, ZEC and HYPE, with NEAR getting special attention as the position is still relatively young (then around $1.40). This suggests Hoffman is looking for projects with more growth potential than Ethereum can currently offer.

The remaining 50% of the funds, Hoffman is using for Litecoin (LIT) through dollar-cost averaging. This systematic investment approach allows him to gradually build a position without taking a large stake at once.

Hoffman expresses doubt about Ethereum’s future

Hoffman previously indicated that Ethereum has reached a market capitalisation that aligns with its current performance. However, he does not expect a significant structural upward revaluation in the future. This statement comes at a time when the Ethereum koers currently stands at $1,850.01 with a decline of 2.8% over the past 24 hours.

Hoffman’s move raises questions about confidence in Ethereum as a long-term investment. While many institutional players are further expanding their Ethereum holdings, the Bankless co-founder seems to prefer spreading his risks across different projects. This diversified investment pattern reflects a broader sentiment that altcoins are currently gaining traction.

His strategy also underscores that investors are increasingly seeking projects beyond the big names. With Ethereum news regularly experiencing volatility, diversification into smaller altcoins potentially offers more upside for those willing to take higher risks.
