Bitcoin holds steady above $63.000. altcoins show recovery
The crypto market shows a cautious recovery over the past 24 hours after the heavy corrections of the past week. The total market capitalisation stands at $2.25T, while the Fear & Greed Index, with a score of 10, still indicates extreme fear among investors. Despite these weak market sentiments, several major cryptocurrencies are posting slight gains today.
Bitcoin is available at Bitvavo and Bybit.
Bitcoin and major cryptocurrencies turn green
Bitcoin rises by 0.18% to $63.251 and thus remains relatively stable after the sharp volatility of the past few days. Ethereum performs slightly better with a gain of 0.80% and trades around $1.685. In addition, investors are also looking at a recent analysis in which the Ethereum price stands at an important crossroads.
Other major coins also show a recovery. XRP gains 2.19%, Solana rises 1.86% and Dogecoin posts a gain of 1.08%. BNB adds 1.35%, while TRON is 0.75% lower. Hyperliquid is among the exceptions in the top 10 and falls 1.45% to $62.19.
Bitcoin dominance rises to 56.16%, indicating that investors, despite the recovery, are still parking relatively much capital in Bitcoin compared to altcoins. This aligns with recent signs that the Bitcoin price continues to defend key support levels.
World and Zcash lead the gainers
Outside the largest coins, there are several notable winners. World rises 9.91% and reaches $0.5223. Lighter also performs well with a gain of 7.78%, while Zcash trades 7.16% higher at $469.35.
Furthermore, Midnight Network, PancakeSwap, Monero, Cardano, Morpho, SIREN and Injective post gains between 3% and 6%.
On the losing side, LAB stands out with a decline of 19.8%. BinanceLive Coin also loses 15.1% and Audiera drops 14%. In addition, Ethena, Venice Token and Bitcoin Cash are under pressure with losses of more than 5%.
Liquidations remain limited despite volatility
According to CoinGlass, positions worth $301.55M have been liquidated in the past 24 hours. This level is currently considered low, especially given the large price fluctuations the market has recently experienced. Previously, a mass sell-off in the derivatives market caused significant unrest.
Long positions account for $163.41M in liquidations, while short positions amount to $138.14M. In total, 103,676 traders are liquidated.
Bitcoin accounts for the largest share of liquidations at $72.72M. Ethereum follows with $68.51M. The largest individual liquidation takes place on Binance and concerns a BTCUSDT position worth $8.05M.
Although the market is slightly recovering today, sentiment remains extremely cautious. With a Fear & Greed Index of just 10, confidence among investors seems far from a structural recovery. That picture aligns with recent data showing that BTC investors collectively sit on huge unrealised losses.
