Grayscale is rebalancing its funds for the second quarter of 2026, and BNB is the big winner. The token receives a weighting of 30.6% in the Smart Contract Fund, placing it above both Ethereum and Solana. This is reported by GlobeNewswire.

In brief:

  • BNB takes the lead in the Grayscale Smart Contract Fund with 30.6%, ahead of Ethereum (29.47%) and Solana (29.15%).
  • In the DeFi Fund, UNI’s weighting is reduced, but Uniswap remains the largest position at 34.16%.
  • In the Decentralized AI Fund, NEAR is scaled back, although the coin retains the top spot at 31.35%.

Ethereum is available at OKX and Bybit.

BNB Takes the Lead in the Smart Contract Fund

Grayscale adjusts its multi-asset funds every quarter based on market ratios. In the rebalancing for the second quarter of 2026, the company adds BNB to the Smart Contract Fund. With a weighting of 30.6%, the token moves Ethereum (29.47%) and Solana (29.15%) to second and third place.

At the time of writing, Ethereum is trading at $1.900, up 1.6% over the past 24 hours. Despite that price movement, the coin thus loses ground in Grayscale’s fund composition relative to BNB.

Changes in DeFi and AI Funds

The DeFi Fund is also undergoing adjustments. Grayscale is reducing its exposure to UNI, the Uniswap token. Still, Uniswap remains the largest position in this fund at 34.16%. The reweighting therefore does not mean a departure for UNI, but rather a smaller share of the whole.

In the Decentralized AI Fund, NEAR is assigned a lower weighting. Like Uniswap in the DeFi Fund, NEAR retains the top spot, with a share of 31.35%. The adjustments in this fund fit within the broader strategy whereby Grayscale recalibrates the ratios on a quarterly basis in response to market developments.
